Custom Orders, Deposits & Cancellations Policy

Examination fees

Examination fees are payable on the day of appointment, unless prior arrangement has been arranged with Rototuna Optometrists.

Custom-Made Products
All optical lenses supplied by us are custom-made to your individual prescription and requirements. As such, these products cannot be resold once manufacturing has commenced. This also applies to custom-made contact lenses.

Deposit Requirement

A 50% deposit is required before any custom order is processed. Production will not begin until this deposit has been received.

Order Confirmation

By paying the deposit, you confirm that all prescription details, product selections, and specifications are correct and approved for manufacture.

Cancellation Prior to Production

Orders may be cancelled prior to entering production. In such cases, a full refund of the deposit will be provided.

Cancellation After Production Has Begun

Once your order has entered production, it cannot be cancelled without cost.
A cancellation fee of 20% of the total order value will apply.

This fee reflects costs already incurred in the manufacturing process.

Any remaining deposit balance after deducting the cancellation fee will be refunded.

Change of Mind

As custom-made products are tailored specifically for you, cancellations or refunds due to change of mind after production has commenced are not permitted beyond the terms outlined above.

Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If a product is faulty, does not match its description, or is not fit for purpose, you are entitled to remedies in accordance with New Zealand law.
